Chick-fil-A, hands down with no real competition in sight, produces one of the best chicken sandwiches in the fast food business. In our humble opinion, it is probably the best chicken sandwich. But, it's not just our opinion. Per The Daily Meal, Chick-fil-A is a favorite quick service restaurant, having ranked number one with customers surveyed by theAmerican Customer Satisfaction Index for six years. It's easy to understand why. Those chicken sandwiches are so juicy and delish. We get hungry just thinking about them.

What's amazing is not too much has changed since Chick-fil-A introduced the world to its original chicken sandwich back in 1964(via The Chicken Wire). You still get the fried chicken breast on top of a toasted bun with a little melted butter and two pickles. It's pretty much perfection. But have you ever wondered about those two pickles? They are meticulously placed in the center of the bun on every original sandwich you order, and in the immortal words of Yoda in Star Wars: Episode I — Phantom Menace, "Always two there are, no more, no less." Why is that? Those pickles certainly raise some questions. What exactly is the story with those iconic pickled cucumbers? Lucky for all of us, Chick-fil-A was more than happy to spill the tea.

Per Chick-fil-A's blog, The Chicken Wire, the pickles on their original chicken sandwiches are sourced from Paradise Farms in Almond, Wisconsin. And believe us when we say, Paradise Farm is serious about their pickles, and boy do they know what they're doing. Paradise Farms is a fourth-generation venture and has been in the pickle business since 1904.Raymond Warzynski, who was born in 1929, is the patriarch of this pickle farm, but he recalls in Chick-fil-A video when he "worked for 50 cents from sunrise to sunset. Sometimes we didn't have time to stop for lunch, we just ate a pickle and kept on going."

Paradise Farmsproduces over 1.25 billion pickle slices a year for our beloved Chick-fil-A sandwiches. These pickle slices are marinated for three days and ripened before they find their way onto that toasted, buttered bun. Mike Warzynski, one of the pickle farmers at Paradise Farms told The Chicken Wire, "We do the best that we can to get the best quality and end result — the best pickle on that Chick-fil-A sandwich." Our taste buds appreciate it.
