Whoville Treats

In the movie, the Grinch steals the Who’s Christmas tree! So, our Grinch Dinner had to feature Christmas trees, of course! But these are Whoville trees, so they need to be colorful and bright! I made my Fruity Pebbles Cereal Treats in a 9×13 dish, cut them in half down the middle, then into triangle wedges. Then, I piped on white chocolate as trim and placed sprinkles on as ornaments. The stump is a fun, decorative marshmallow I found at World Market!

Fruity Pebbles Cereal Treats

PREP TIME: 5 minutes
COOK TIME: 10 minutes
TOTAL TIME: 15 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 10 cups fruity pebbles
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 20 ounces mini marshmallows (2- 10 ounce bags)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 additional cup of marshmallows

METHOD

  1. Prepare a 9×13 pan with cooking spray and parchment paper.
  2. Measure out cereal into a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  3. To a saucepan over medium heat, add the butter. Stir until melted.
  4. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows and continuously stir until the marshmallows are melted down, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
  6. Pour marshmallow sauce over the fruity pebbles cereal and mix until cereal is coated. Fold in the additional cup of mini marshmallows.
  7. Pour the coated cereal into your pan. Firmly press to compact. Place in the fridge for 15 minutest to set.
  8. Cut and enjoy!

Notes

Pro Tip: reserve your butter wrappers and use them to press the rice krispies into your pan. The cereal won’t stick and you don’t have to get messy hands!

Grinch Juice

You can’t have a Grinch Dinner without a menu item featuring, the Grinch himself! This 2 ingredient Grinch Juice is the perfect addition to tie everything together! It’s equal parts Green Hawaiian Punch and Sprite! I then topped it with whipping cream and a strawberry half that looked like a heart, for obvious reasons!
