Technical Data Management Subject Matter Expert - Careers At Intrepid (2024)

We are looking for a Technical Data Management Subject Matter Expert to join our team to provide Configuration Management (CM) engineering support (software, hardware, and documentation) to a US Army government project office (PO).

Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Providing technical expertise and support in the functional areas of Configuration Management Planning, Configuration Identification, Configuration Control, Configuration Status Accounting, Configuration Verification and Auditing, Data Management (DM) and Intellectual Property (IP)/Data Markings.
  • Planning, preparing, and executing CM activities in support of Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs and various other new engineering design initiatives.
  • Proposing and/or implementing CM processes and tool improvements.
  • Supporting CM/DM activities including:
    • Preparing, reviewing, and coordinating contract requirement packages and providing input to CM/DM-specific requirements.
    • Reviewing and maintaining accuracy of all functional, allocated, and product baseline documentation associated with managed system configurations.
    • Leading and participating in functional and physical configuration audits.
    • Providing guidance and briefings to IFMC PO senior leaders on CM/DM activities, impacts, and plans as required.
  • Providing your skills and expertise to relevant proposal efforts such as contract re-competes and new contract bids as needed.

At a minimum you should have:

  • An active SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be a US citizen and must be a resident near the local field office (Redstone Arsenal, AL), or be willing to relocate.
  • A bachelor’s degree (or Master’s) in an Engineering-oriented discipline or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience are required. HS diploma with 6+ years of relevant experience is also acceptable.
  • Must have a solid understanding of DoD 5000 CM-related requirements and CM-related industry and Army standards (i.e. EIA-649, EIA-649-1, MIL-HDBK-61, ASME standards, etc.)
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office products.
  • Understanding of systems engineering methodology and techniques.
  • Must be able to think independently and be self-motivated, with proven organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and support varied assignments.
  • Good communication skills are important, with a positive and friendly demeanor.

You will be highly desirable if you have:

  • Experience with missile defense systems in the CM domain is a plus.
  • Candidates with experience with industry-accepted CM tools (Atlassian Tool suite (Jira/Confluence)) and an understanding of Agile software development are preferred.
