Peanut Butter Glazed Chocolate Donuts Recipe -my new quick chocolate peanut butter treat that is as much fun to make as it is to eat. I could eat the glaze with a spoon! So good!
When the chocolate craving hits, make baked donuts with a peanut butter glaze. It's a simple yet indulgent treat! Sweet, soft and fluffy chocolate donuts with slightly salty glaze make for one delicious combo. Exactly what a dessert should be. It only takes 15 minutes to make these donuts!
PEANUT BUTTER GLAZED CHOCOLATE DONUTS
These Peanut Butter Glazed Chocolate Donuts are quite simple to make. Baked donuts are a great option when you are craving a bakery pastry but do not want the calories of a fried doughnut. The smooth and glossy peanut butter glaze is the perfect finishing touch. Add chocolate sprinkles, shaved chocolate or mini chocolate chips for an extra topping and enjoy!
HOW TO MAKE PEANUT BUTTER GLAZED CHOCOLATE DONUTS?
- Start by preheating the oven.Grease a regular size 6 donut pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, oil and vanilla.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and whisk until smooth.Add chocolate chips and stir.Divide the batter evenly in the donut pan.Bake donuts for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer onto a cooling rack.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together peanut butter and melted butter.Add sifted confectioners sugar and vanilla and whisk until smooth. It may look clumpy at first but keep whisking, it will become smooth. It will be thick but easily spreadable. You can warm it up in a microwave to make it more drizzling consistency.Dip donuts in glaze and set back on cooling rack.
HOWTO MAKE BAKED DONUTS?
To make baked donuts, you need a donut pan. They usually have 6 cavities so if you want to make more donuts at a time, it's good to buy two pans. Make the donut batter (it's very similar to a muffin or a cake batter) and place in a ziploc bag. Snip off the edge and fill each donut cavity with batter. It's a mess-free way to make it. Bake donuts for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly then take out of the pan.
TOPPING IDEAS FOR BAKED DONUTS:
- simple glaze: mix powdered sugar with milk until drizzling consistency, then dip each donut and set aside to dry.
- sprinkles: it's always fun to dress up donuts with colorful sprinkles!
- powdered sugar: simply dust donuts with powdered sugar for a true bakery treat.
If you don't have a donut pan, you can bake the batter in a regular muffin pan. I highly recommend this Wilton pan if you like baked donuts. You will love it and use it often.
Enjoy!

PEANUT BUTTER makes me shout from rooftops with joy. I love it so much. I go through a jar every week and a half (sometimes week) because I constantly eat spoonfuls from the jar. These donuts are made of so much awesome sauce! I want one right now. 🙂Reply
