HOW DOES LASER TREATMENT WORK?
The laser emits a light energy, which is then converted into heat. The melanin, the substance that gives the hair its colour, absorbs the laser light emitted which then destroys the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding tissue.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
We advise a minimum of 6 treatments to get the best results. Some clients may need additional treatments depending on certain factors, for example hormonal imbalances.
The number of sessions depends on the body area to be treated, colour and thickness of the hair, skin type and the specific features of each patient. After your 6th treatment if any additional sessions are required I offer a discounted single session price.
IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL PERMANENT?
The device includes an innovative technology that achieves excellent results in permanent reduction of hair and adapts to the conditions and needs of each person. Laser hair removal with Eneka PRO eliminates permanently the active follicles in a course sessions.
Some clients may need a top up session in the future. This is because some hair follicles can lay “dormant” or sometimes hair growth can be stimulated after pregnancy, menopause or taking certain medications for hormonal imbalances.
IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?
Due to the high technology and it’s advanced Integrated skin cooling system, the Eneka PRO minimises the pain and protects the skin so the treatment is more comfortable and easily tolerated.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
The treatment with Eneka PRO minimises the risks, that are reversible in a short period of time: skin reddening, residual or perifollicular erythema, that disappear in 24/72 hours after the treatment.
PRE & POST CARE ADVICE
PRE-CARE INFORMATION
Prior to each session, please follow the steps below to ensure the best outcomes for your treatment. It may not be possible to provide laser unless this is done.
Please shave 12 – 24 hours prior to treatment.
DO NOT epilate, wax, or tweeze prior or during your treatments.
Do not wear perfumes, deodorants, makeup, or body oils / butter before treatment.
Do not come to the appointment with fake tan or with a significant tan from UV light within 4 weeks of your appointment as this could affect your treatment.
Avoid the use of sunbeds 4 weeks prior to treatment and throughout treatment process.
If you have Botox in the treatment area, you must wait 4 weeks before treatment can commence.
Do not take pain killers before treatment as this can occasionally increase the risk of bruising.
Please attend all scheduled laser sessions – failure to do so may affect the hair cycle process and can result in additional treatments.
Please wear loose fitting clothing.
If you are having your underarms treated, please come in a white / light coloured bra. (If you wear a darker one, it will need to be removed for your treatment.)
Inform the therapist of any changes to medications.
POST-CARE INFORMATION
Apply aloe vera or tea tree soothing cream for up to 48 hours after treatment.
Apply SPF30 if you are in direct contact with the sun throughout the duration of treatments.
Avoid deodorants and perfumed products for 48 hours after treatment.
Avoid hot baths, showers, heat treatments, saunas, stream rooms, swimming pools and hot tubs for 24 hours after each treatment.
Exfoliate in the shower using an exfoliating mitt or loofa 2 weeks after each treatment to help with the hair shredding process.
DO NOT epilate, wax, or tweeze or use any other form of laser / IPL treatments in between appointments.
Do not use sunbeds, tanning products or be exposed to excessive UV light between treatments.
You must update your therapist on any changes to medication.
If you are planning to undergo an MRI scan, chemical peel – please inform your doctor that you have had laser treatments.
It is essential that the aftercare advice is strictly adhered to as the clinic can not be held responsible for any adverse effects that may occur if not followed.
