This wikiHow teaches you how to create a 24-hour feed of pictures and videos in Snapchat. When you add snaps and videos to your Story, friends can view them an unlimited number of times for 24 hours.

Quick Steps

  1. Take a Snap or video.
  2. Edit your Snap or video.
  3. Tap the Story icon (box with a +).
  4. Tap the arrow icon to send it.

    Open

    Snapchat. Tap the Snapchat app icon, which resembles a white ghost on a yellow background. This will open your main Snapchat page if you're logged in.

    • If you aren't logged into Snapchat, tap LOG IN, then enter your email address (or username) and password.

    Take a snap. Aim your smartphone's camera at whatever you want to add to your Story, then tap the large "Capture" circle at the bottom of the screen.

    • If you don't like your snap, tap X in the top-left corner of the screen to delete it and take another one.
    • If you want to add a video to your Story, you'll tap and hold the "Capture" circle instead. You can record up to 60 seconds of video.

    Edit your snap as necessary. If you want to write on your snap, add drawings, or add effects, do so before proceeding.

    Tap the "Story" icon. It's a box-shaped icon with a + sign on it in the bottom-left side of the screen.

    • Tap Add if prompted.

    Tap the Send

    icon. It's in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

    • Skip this step on Android.

    Send a snap to multiple people as well as your Story. If you want to send your snap to some of your Snapchat contacts and your Story, do the following:

    • Take a snap.
    • Tap the "Send" arrow in the bottom-right corner.
    • Tap My Story at the top of the page, then tap the names of other people you want to include.
    • Tap the "Send" arrow.

    The only way to save snaps from other people without a third party app is to take a screenshot. On iOS this is done by pressing the power and home buttons at the same time. On Android you press the hold the power and volume down buttons at the same time.
