Can you do healthstreams at home? ›

HealthStream is mainly used by healthcare organizations, medical device companies, and pharmaceutical companies. How do I access HealthStream from home? To access HealthStream from a home network, users can go to the URL provided by the administrator and log in to the HealthStream portal.

Open Internet Explorer and type the web address (also called a URL) provided by your administrator (for example: www.healthstream.com/hlc/FacilityName). You may have an HLC icon on your PC desktop or your institution's intranet. If so, double-click the HLC icon. The Login page appears.

For your initial log-in, please use your Facility code followed by your employee # as your User ID and password.

These can be accessed on an unlimited basis via the HealthStream platform or the highly utilized mobile app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Critical Review

Healthstream has a big hold on healthcare but they are slowly losing this hold to others vendors in the marketplace. Their pricing is expensive and the negotiation process is difficult. Their contract servicing is very fragmented.

If a student completes a learning activity more than one time (for example, multiple attempts to pass a test), the system will count the estimated time for each attempt. If you do not wish to record an estimated completion time for an activity, you must enter a zero (0) in both the Hours and Minutes boxes.
